Service User Involvement
Service user involvement is a generic term which could be used to describe almost any activity or initiative involving recipients of services.
ROCC believes and acts with an ethos that Service Users should be offered the opportunity to be consulted, as far as is meaningfully possible, in all aspects of the services they receive, and that their views be used to assist in the strategic planning of these services. Evidence shows that this produces better services for clients. ROCC facilitates service user reference groups (SURG) that are linked to the Supporting People programme across Hampshire, Portsmouth and the Isle of White. We hope to develop and introduce these kinds of challenge groups within all social, housing and care services across the South.
