Developing your Team

Suitable for: A team can be described as a group of people, either located together or geographically spread, who have complementary roles and skills and work together towards a shared purpose and common goals. As well as managing individuals, many managers are also responsible for leading a team. This course is aimed at managers who want to learn more about effective team working, team leadership and how to develop their team.
Course Aims and Objectives
By the end of the course, participants should have a better understanding of:
- What makes an effective team?
- Different types of teams
- Advantages of a team approach
- Roles and responsibilities of a team leader
- Different team roles and how they relate to individual work roles
- Team dynamics and the phase’s teams can go through
- Strategies for helping teams to develop through different phases
Trainers for this course
Nigel Keir
Is the Training and Development Manager at ROCC. He has held training positions in the Civil Service and for the National Association of CAB. He has also managed mental community support services. Nigel holds a diploma in training management and is currently studying for an MSc in the Management of Voluntary Organisations.
