Course Aims and Objectives
Aims & Objectives: This powerful workshop gives you the opportunity to develop strategies for defusing difficult or challenging behaviour, whilst remaining in control of any conflict situation and your emotional responses to it. In the workplace the behaviour of one in ten people – colleagues or members of the public – is likely to cause undue stress. Even the most effective among us suffer the by-products of this behaviour: distraction, lack of concentration, time wasting, poor productivity, absenteeism, stress and ill-health being just some of them. We may not be able to choose whom we work or live with, but we can choose how we deal with them. This course will equip individuals with the essential knowledge to:
- Prevent incidents from occurring and/or escalating
- Identify ways to reduce the risks
- Recognise and assess the types of challenging situations which they may encounter
- Promote positive communication and de-escalation techniques
- Control their own feelings, responses and increase confidence
