Date: 18 November 2010
Duration: Half Day
Duration: 9:30am-1:00pm
Held at: ROCC, Fairways House, Mount Pleasant Road, Southampton, SO14 0QB
Suitable for: WRAPs are something that those supporting anyone with health or support needs may want to be aware of, assist service users with completing, or recommend they explore.
Course Aims and Objectives
Wellness Recovery Action Plans (WRAPs) are a tool developed and used by mental health service users to explore their own needs, triggers and cues as to when their health is improving or deteriorating and to share this with others as appropriate. They also provide the opportunity for the service user to express their wishes about treatment who is involved in their care and support, should they require intervention from others. The aim of a WRAP is to provide insight with a view to planning for prevention and intervention before a crisis occurs. WRAPs sit very well with both Care and Support Planning principles, and elements of the WRAP may form elements of Care / Support Plans and vice versa. This workshop will provide participants with an opportunity to consider which clients may find WRAPs useful, hints and tips for completing WRAPs, and the chance to experience completing elements of a WRAP in the form of a contingency plan for a circumstance of their own.
