Tending for Services

Suitable for: Managers who are or will be responsible for tender bids. This course will equip individuals with the skills needed to successfully tender for future contracts and re-tender for existing ones.
Course Aims and Objectives
On completion of the course, participants will:
- Be able to explain what is likely to be involved in tendering for business in the future.
- Be aware of issues likely to be involved in deciding whether and how to bid, when invited to do so.
- Have explored the options for entering into partnership or consortium with other providers to tender jointly.
- Have practised the skills required throughout the tendering process.
Participants are allocated to groups for the duration of the course and these groups act as a steering for 3 different provider organisations invited to bid for the work. The groups will be asked to put together a tender bid for their mock provider organisation across the two days, culminating in a full tender presentation.

Mike Ballard
Mike is the Policy and Information Manager and Deputy Chief Executive at ROCC. He holds a qualification in Advanced Management for Care and for 16 years worked for a leading Registered Social Landlord (RSL) as Director for Sheltered and Supported Housing Services.
